J-pop golden tracks Empty
PostSubject: J-pop golden tracks   J-pop golden tracks EmptySun 28 Oct - 13:44

We've been talking about our favourite GS moments, our favourite anime series, our favourite characters, and so much more. But there's still one category that hasn't been in the spotlight.

What is your number one J-pop anime song all-time ? The song that gives you the vibes every time you listen to it. The song that you have played over a thousand, million or billion times. The song YOU love most ...

Let's say we'll only take anime songs to start with (other J-pop might follow later).

! You can only pick one song (not a band or album !) that in your opinion is the best anime song ever. Your very own number one. Think carefully, and pick out the right one !

As for me, the choice is made quickly.
Heart of the Sword, by T.M Revolution. 3d Ending song of Rurouni Kenshin

Why ?
Gosh, so many reasons. Firts of all Takamishi's great vocal performance. Strengthened by a medium pased, yet fabulous beat. This song has a sound that is so unique, it has captured my heart right from the very start (already more than 10 years ago).

Next, I think this song fits its series very well. You can really feel the samurai spirit, and the heart of the sword.
The fact that this is a Kenshin song is also a reason why I have picked this one. To me, this is pure nostalgia. Kenshin is one of my first anime series, and I have always loved it up until this very day.
I'm a samurai myself, and know very well what the heart of the sword is. And this song also was my very first mp3 track !

Here's the song:

http://www.fileden.com/files/2006/8/4/154921/Heart%20of%20the%20Sword.mp3

And a nice image of Kenshin to get this topic on the run.

PostSubject: Re: J-pop golden tracks   J-pop golden tracks EmptyMon 29 Oct - 4:35

Ah.. Heart of Sword is indeed a very nice track. Probably one of the best from the Rurounin Kenshin series and that's saying something. Hahaa.
I agree that TMR's a great singer. But somehow, I can't appreciate his music videos. Sure, nice graphics and all but he doesn't look all good to me (just my own opinion, apologies to his fans!silent ).

And only one song? Damn, that's tough. Neutral

Well, at least you narrowed it down to anime themes only. Hahaa. Let's see.. For me, it's Mata Ashita by the whole Ouran Host Club seiyuu's. It's a character.. Make that characters Razz song.

I like this song for the light and happy tune it has. And it's just fun to listen to. Very Happy

An image to share too. Very Happy

PostSubject: Re: J-pop golden tracks   J-pop golden tracks EmptyMon 29 Oct - 11:59

Yeah, T.M Revolution's MVs aren't the best ones around. And of course there are better looking J-pop singers (like Gackt, and others ... I'm male, so I don't know much about 'good looking one' XD). But they do make great music. And Heart of the Sword is a killing awesome track.

I have to admit that I did doubt for a second, since I think that the OP of the new Tales of Symphonia OVA series, Almateria, performed by Eri Kawai is one bloody beautiful track as well. Actually, it's on second place in my ranking. And Daybreak's Bell (Double 0) is getting rather high in my ranking too. But Heart of the Sword still remains my number 1.

Yep, I know it's a tough choice Very Happy

Mata Ashita's a pleasant song to listen too. Especially the chorus. I also agree that it's a fun track to listen to, although vocally it's not always 100% perfectly blending. But that's typical for this type of multiple character songs.

One of those real 'make-you-feel-good' songs. Great choice !

PostSubject: Re: J-pop golden tracks   J-pop golden tracks EmptyTue 30 Oct - 5:48

You don't need to know what makes a good looking guy. Razz
Yea, I love Heart of the Sword. Then again, I loved almost every single of TMR's. Just can't really appreciate his MVs.

For MVs, Daybreak's Bell's one of the greatest. Who can resist sexy Hyde? Hahaa. Speaking of which, Daybreak's Bell is not only high in your chart (and mine Razz) but Oricon's rankings too. It reached #1! Very Happy

Hahaa. When can we start sharing non-anime songs? There are a bunch of good ones. Very Happy
And one's too restrictive. Hahaa. Don't torture the members by making us pick only one! XD

Yea, that's one flaw with character songs. Another is that sometimes, the seiyuus are just not good singers. *ahemishidaakiraahem*
What I like about character songs is that they fit very well with the characters. Very Happy

Oh and they just released a remix of the song. Not as good as the original one but it's still worth a try. Wink

Thanks! Heart of Sword's a good choice too. Wink

PostSubject: Re: J-pop golden tracks   J-pop golden tracks EmptyWed 31 Oct - 4:41

Indeed I don't Very Happy I'll leave that up to you ^^
T.M has lots of great songs. Mugen no Ark is one of their better ones. But Heart of the Sword is T.M at its best, in my opinion. Although it's one of their older songs, it still can compete pretty good with all the recent anime J-pop.

Heheheh. Yeah, seems like you've got quite the hype for Hyde. He's got a cool name btw.
Well, it's logic it is, since it's an awesome song. There hasn't been a day I didn't play it several times, ever since it got released.

Well, I'll wait to see if more members will post their number 1 anime song first. If not, I'll allow overall J-pop too.

Yeah, some indeed can't sing at all, or at least not too good, like Hoshi Souichirou (Kira's seiyuu) as you mentioned. But it's admirable of them that they still dare doing it.
True. And it's always fun to see your favourite character(s) sing. ^^

A remix of Mata Ashita ?

Thanx ^.^ We only make good choices, ne Very Happy

Gladly. XD
Thunderbird's not bad too! Very Happy White breath is quite a catchy one too. Gah. TMR's a great singer. Who cares about the MVs. XD
His new band, Abingdon Boys School, has nice music too. Howling was a good one. Very Happy I shan't start on their MVs. Razz

Does Hyde comes from Hide? lol Well, Hyde has an unresistably sexy voice. And a sexy face. And of course, there's his hair.. right? Razz
Yeap, it's awesome. It's one of the few Gundam songs that made it to #1!

Come in, other members! Very Happy I need new songs to listen to. XD

I mentioned Ishida Akira. lol. You've probably only noticed the kira bit, you Kira fan you. XD
At least Hoshi Souichirou sings better than Ishida Akira. XD
It's part of their jobs I guess. Character songs are best sung by the seiyuus themselves, but others like Athrun's version Anna ni Isshou datta noni are good too. Very Happy

Yeap, they've just released an Ouran Character songs album of the sort. Tamaki has a new song too, Kanau nara.

PostSubject: Re: J-pop golden tracks   J-pop golden tracks EmptyThu 1 Nov - 7:13

Thunderbird's good, but it's rather slow pased. But then again, I am used to real uptempo Eurobeat. That doesn't mean there aren't slow(er) song I like a lot.
Albireo's a catchy T.M song too. And then there's of course the GS songs (Invoke, Ignited, Vestige) who are also great.

Yeah, Abingdon Boys School has indeed some nice songs. I especially like Innocent Sorrow.

Good question. But anyway, it's a kewl name ^^
Yep, the hair indeed. XD And I agree on his voice. I love to sing along with Daybreak's Bell, and try to imitate his voice. Very Happy I'll need some more practice on the higher tones though ^^'
Well, it's a song that really deserves to be #1. It's great. And it fits Double 0's OP scenery so darn well. I find myself, after watching an episode, always replaying the OP for a couple of more times. ^^

Yes, I agree. COME ON EVERYBODY ! LET'S SHARE THOSE SONGS !

Ahahah *scratches the back of my head* ^^'
Yeah, I indead only read the kira part. My mistake. Well, Akira admitted he can't sing. His type of voice isn't much of a sing one. But he shouldn't worry. Many have melted for his character voice work (Athrun, Yuda, ...)
Yeah. And the fans really know how to appreciate it, so that's good. But songs like the Anna ni Ishodatta no ni Asuran-Zala feeling version are pretty sweet too, I agree. Especially that particular song.

That sounds cool. What's it like ?

Ow and since you wanted some more music, here's Almateria (the Tales of Symphonia OP song I talked about). Enjoy ! ^^

PostSubject: Re: J-pop golden tracks   J-pop golden tracks EmptyThu 1 Nov - 23:48

Now I know your preferences. XD
Ah, yes, the ever loved GS songs. They're the ones that got me onto TMR in the first place. Hahaa. Ignited was one of the few Gundam songs that got onto #1 in Oricon's charts, just like Daybreak's Bell. 2 great songs indeed.

Innocent Sorrow's real good too. The MV had a sort of Harry Potter feel to it though. And TMR in doesn't look good ressed like that.

lol
I love singing along to Daybreak's Bell too! But alas, my voice can never reach as low as his. ^^;;
Work those chords, Aya! Maybe you'll be the Belgian-born Hyde! Very Happy

Yes, me, the one who melts at his voice. Not saying much for looks though. Hahaa. But he does look cute sometimes. Only SOMEtimes though. lol
Yeap, that's one track that's absolutely lovely. And well, we wouldn't want Ishida Akira to sing if he doesn't want to. Hahaa.

It's quite a slow song. ^^;; And it really has the Tamaki feeling there and all.
imeem's being a bitch and I can't upload it. T-T

That was a nice song. Very Happy What language is it in? Sorry, I don't watch Tales of Symphonia. Hahaa.

PostSubject: Re: J-pop golden tracks   J-pop golden tracks EmptyFri 2 Nov - 8:30

XD
Besides Heart of the Sword, I hadn't really been into T.M music. It was only after Invoke that I started searching for more songs of them. And I'm glad I did.
Yes, two great songs. And to me Daybreak's Bell is the better one out of the two. I find it catchier and having more depth than Ignited. Overall, it sounds better.

Myeah, the MV of Innocent Sorrow indeed has a little Harry Potter feeling to it. And although I'm far from a Harry Potter fan, I don't really mind it. Actually, I don't watch all that much MV's. There's too many songs in my collection to look up every MV Very Happy
(partially laziness, yeah XD)

The lower parts aren't a problem to me. The higher ones on the other hand sound like a cat getting beatings. XD BUT, I'm working on it ! ^^

Yeah, Akira-sama will be a lot happier when we don't ask him to sing. ^^

I had problems too yesterday when I tried uploading a song on FileEden. Tried it several times, but always at the very end, the uploading stopped for no reason. ><!
*growls and shows my fangs at crappy internet*

*nods* Almateria has such a magical feeling. And the vocals are really super tasty.
I think it's Japanese, although sometimes, it sounds like another language. I should try to find the lyrics to know for sure what it is. ^^'

Ow, you should really try Tales of Symphonia ! It's fantastic. The graphics are astonishing. The fact that it's an OVA series is really good for the artwork (it's so clean). I think you'll really like it, especially Kratos Very Happy Wink

Ok, since nobody else seems to post here, I'll allow non-anime J-pop songs too from now on.

Same here. Hahaa. Seed has introduced me to a lot of awesome artistes; High and Mighty Colors for one. Enrai's one of the best songs I've ever heard, not to forget the Asucaga moments in the ending sequence. Hahaa.
Hyde does have better vocals. Razz

You're too lazy, face it. Razz You're crowned the King of Laziness! XD
Try looking up the MVs when you're free! Pick up some visuel kei! They have nice hair and costumes! Very Happy

High notes are indeed tougher for males. XD
Hyde's voice is so sexy in it! ><

Akira-sama's voice is good enough as it is! Very Happy

Yea, there's something up with the internet connection nowadays. Man, and I thought it was only mine. Hahaa. Bad weather brings bad connection. It happens all the time. And the frequent rains doesn't help.

It doesn't sound Japapnese to me. Hahaa. I hear a bit of english now and then, but that was it.

Good-looking guy in the show? Twisted Evil
It's on my watch list now. Hohoho.

Cool! Time for SMAP-shipping! Very Happy *Everybody else should come in here too, so that everyone will get a taste of SMAP love. XD *

Hm. Let's see. SMAP's a really popular jpop boyband, though I don't think they fall under the 'boy' category anymore. Hahaa.
Though they're a music band, frankly, their vocals aren't all good. Maybe with the exception of Kimura Takuya. XD
Here's a picture of Kimura Takuya:

J-pop golden tracks Kimura_Takuya

I'd recommend Arigatou! It's their most recent single. I don't know, their voices aren't all nice but the song came out pretty good if you ask me. Especially Kimura Takuya's bit. Very Happy
And yes, long hair, Aya! His certainly looks like a lion's mane if you ask me. Razz

Oh, here's the youtube video of a live version of the song.

J-pop golden tracks Empty
PostSubject: Re: J-pop golden tracks   J-pop golden tracks EmptyFri 2 Nov - 11:52

Yeah, same goes for me. High and Mighty Colour was new to me as well when I first heard them in the GSD opening.

Well, that's the whole point. I'm not much free, so I don't spend my little free time on MV search. ^^
Ah yeah, Visual Kei. They are the living nightmare to parents who get to hear from their children they want to do their hair in the same way. XD Very Happy

Well, it is possible. Manuel, one of the best Eurobeat singers these days, has a rather aggressive male voice, yet in his latest song, Gas Gas Gas, at the end he goes from very powerful to really really high. (I already posted the song's link once, but I don't know if you listened to it back then)
Dang, I wish I had a singing talent like he has ...

Yes, Hyde's voice is really sexy. Even I as a male have to admit that his vocal work in Daybreak's Bell could easily turn you on. XD

Yep, agreed ! ^^

I've been so wanting to kick the rooter outside these past days. Wireless internet can sometimes be soooooooooo annoying. Wednesday evening, I had to restart the rooter and try to get my connection back on track. Took me bloody 20 minutes ! Mad

I've looked it up, and it's one of those made up languages. They made a mixture of Japanese sounds and some English sound, with totally made up words and sounds. It reminds me of several Belgian folk bands, who do the same (Urban Trad and Laïs).

Ow yes indeed ! Kratos is btw the guy in my signature. Razz

Ah yeah, I know SMAP, and the same goes for their song Arigatou.
I agree that the voices are often sounding rather off or that they don't really fit each other. But I guess the female fans are more interested in the boys (men ^^) themselves. Very Happy
It's not really my type of favourite band, but I won't mind listening to their songs every now and then.

Myeah. But still, Bill is THE lion of music industries these days. XD

Hahaa. If I'm not wrong, PRIDE was the one song of theirs that rocketed their fame. In a way, it's lucky for artistes to have their songs featured on Seed. lol.

Ok, no MVs for you. We don't want you to spend your free time used to come here on looking up MVs. XD
True. But most people wouldn't give a hoot about what their parents say after they hit 18 or something. Razz

You did post the link once? Shocked Ok, I haven't seen nor heard it. Hahaa.
You're ok as you are. Very Happy Not like you're aiming to be a popstar, right? XD

XD *plays Daybreak's Bell on media player*

Hahaa! Don't throw it out! It might break. XD
But yea, wireless is being an ass. My computer keeps losing the connection. =-=

Ah, no wonder we both heard different languages. Hahaa.
O! Folk bands! Very Happy

If he nosebleeds over Asucaga, he's on my favourites list. >D

Who doesn't know SMAP? Hahaa. A band who can't sing and still become popular enough that they can do anything stupid and females still go absolutely gaga over them.
I haven't seen much SMAP fanboys around. Hahaa.

True true. XD

J-pop golden tracks Empty
PostSubject: Re: J-pop golden tracks   J-pop golden tracks EmptySat 3 Nov - 9:59

Yeah, Pride's an awesome track. At first I was really surprised to hear a song like that as an OP for a Gundam series (Bokutachi as well). But after hearing it a couple of times, I was in love with it.
OP 4 was a real shame. Wings of Words really sucks, and it certainly didn't fit a Gundam series. Too gay ! Therefore I was a little anxious about the OP of Double 0. But luckily, it turned out to be one of the darn best Gundam OP songs ever.

Heheheh. That's what I thought so Very Happy
I was more talking about the non 18 ones.

Yes, I did. But don't worry. For YOU, here it is again.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2006/8/4/154921/1%20-%2017%20-%20Gas%20Gas%20Gas.mp3

Now that I am busy talking about Eurobeat. Yesterday evening when I got home (yes, I replied at work during a break), my copy of the new Super Eurobeat 182 finally arrived cheers And I must say, what an AWESOME album ! The 181 already was a great one (with Gas Gas Gas as the top track), but this new 182 is really of such high level. So many many great, fast, strong songs. There's especially this song, Everlasting Fire, by Melissa White, that I have been playing over and over again.

It's simply gorgeous. Melissa White's vocals are always great, and this time they are combined with a super catchy chorus. But what I love most about this song are the brilliant c-beat and super delicious bridge. I'm soooooooooo in love with this song Razz

For some dumb reason, it won't let me upload the song, so I'll have to retry later. (too bad, 'cause it's really an awesome song)

Yeah, I'm indeed not aiming to become a popstar. The looks might be ok, but the voice isn't. XD

You bet wireless can be a real pain in the ass. Half a year ago, there were days that my connection went on the blank every 2 minutes ! Now I can assure you that I really felt the urge to break something or kill somebody back then. Very Happy

Heheheh. And he has a deep voice, so that might give him some extra points in your ranking Wink Razz

Yep, that's indeed a very, very good description of SMAP Very Happy
I also think the fanboys are rather rare. XD

PostSubject: Re: J-pop golden tracks   J-pop golden tracks EmptySat 3 Nov - 18:54

Hahaa. Yea, those 2 songs had more of a rock bit in them than typical Gundam songs. Together with Wings of Words, it's like they're trying to introduce different genres of songs into the OPs. Wings of Words sounded very much like a choir. =-=
What I don't like about Pride is all the remixes. Razz

I have friends like that! But they're the ones who get into so much trouble with their parents.

Aw~ Thank you. Very Happy
*hugs*

It's a very catchy song, I must say. XD All the same, it's nice. Very Happy Aya never fails his recommendations. Wink

You were slacking on that job? Mad I don't really listen to much other songs except for jpop and jrock, so I'm a bit ignorant about Eurobeat's songs. ^^;;
Are you going to be their ambassador? Very Happy

Kick the wireless. I wonder what's up with the interent connections. =-=

Since you're not aiming to be a popstar, your voice will be good enough as it is. Very Happy

Luckily you can't bring your Katana home! If not, I'd see news of a guy killing people because of a faulty internet connection and maybe they'll ban wireless. Hahaa.

Oooh. Seiyuu?

Hahaa. I was just thinking about it when I was watching this interview of Madonna that SMAP had. Shingo (one of the members of SMAP) dressed up as this ancient Japanese guy (ya know, with those typical hiarstyle) and made a fool of himself dancing like Madonna. It was nothing like Madonna's dances and was utterly stupid. And I see fangirl comments in the comments bit. =-=

J-pop golden tracks Empty
PostSubject: Re: J-pop golden tracks   J-pop golden tracks EmptySun 4 Nov - 6:40

I think it was really refreshing to hear this type of songs for a Gundam OP. Too bad they didn't do the same for the 4th one as well. Wings of Words sounded indeed like some gay choir song. And it was too slow for an action series like GSD. I guess we can only say that the song was on the same low level as the series.
I never even did an effort listening to the remixes of Pride. Most of the time, I only listen to the original songs, because the remixes can be a real raping of the original. The Phase Shift Armoured version of Invoke on the other hand was a good remix. It added a great new touch of beat to the song.

I can imagine that. Mine would freak out if I got home with hair like that. Actually they did when I dyed it pink Very Happy

*hugs back*

Heheh. And yes, you bet it's catchy. A lot of Eurobeat songs are really catchy. (either the fun chorus, or the neat c-beat)

Well, I couldn't do anything else while I was waiting for a call from the printer to know if I had to modify my design I was working on, so I thought it was ok to come to the forum meanwhile. ^^
It's the other way round here. I don't listen to much other types of music than Eurobeat. Well except for J-pop. Very Happy
Lol. Eurobeat ambassador. It sure sounds nice. ^^ Well, I already am the single official registered Belgian Eurobeat fan. That's already a very nice title, ne ?! Razz

I don't know. Uploading seems to be going fine, except for songs. And downloading works better than usual. So I really have no clue why FileEden won't let me upload the song. I retried several times, but without any result *sigh*

Yeah Very Happy

Now THAT would be some news ! Hahahah yes I guess it's indeed best I can't. The world would be such a less safe place. XD

Kratos' seiyuu is Fumihiko Tachiki.

Never seen it. But I can clearly imagine how dumb it must have been. Very Happy

J-pop golden tracks Empty
PostSubject: Re: J-pop golden tracks   J-pop golden tracks EmptyMon 5 Nov - 3:39

Something new is good. Very Happy But maybe not Wings of Words for that matter. If it weren't a GSD opening, I think I would appreciate it a lot more. It just didn't fit well. Hahaa. That's just the one song that didn't do the brand justice. You'd expect the OPs and EDs to be great songs (yea, all of them were totally awesome Razz ) safe for Wings of Words. XD Agreed, Destiny wasn't a good series, but at least it brought lots of great songs. Very Happy *always looking on the bright side of things hahaa*
You made a right choice there. Hahaa. Raping of the originals! Well said. cheers The Pride Remixes certainly raped the original to the core. Occasionally remixes, like you've said, are good. Another good remix is the Akatsuki no Kuruma accoustic version! Now that's class. Very Happy

Pink is cute. Hahaa! But that was temporary right? Imagine if you dyed it pink permanently! XD

Catchy seems to be your thing. Very Happy Phase shift armour of Invoke, Heart of the Sword, etc. XD

Nah, I wasn't about to chase you away. XD I slack all the time during school (by text messaging under the table XD)
Which is good. We can intro good songs to each other. Very Happy
It's a long title. Hahaa!

It's the work of the evil people stopping file sharing! D< Time to head out, Kyrios! XD

But that's how people survived in the past. Hahaa. Katana-wielding Samurais were all over then! Razz

The guy who did Gendou Ikari from Eva!

Don't see it. It stabs SMAP's image right in the center. XD

J-pop golden tracks Empty
PostSubject: Re: J-pop golden tracks   J-pop golden tracks EmptyMon 5 Nov - 12:11

Even if it weren't, I wouldn't have appreciated it. To me, it sounds just too flavourless. There aren't real highlights during the entire track, and I'm not too much of a fan when we talk about the group's vocal work. But then again, that might be due to my passion for Eurobeat. Very Happy

Well then I'm glad I never did any effort getting them. ^^
One or two remixes can be good every now and then. But as soon as they keep squeezing new versions out of older songs, you know they are mainly not worthy carrying the same title as the original.
Happens a lot with older Eurobeat songs. They try to give a modern touch to some real golden classic songs, but the only thing they manage to do is make it sound so totally wrong. ><
Yes, the acoustic version of Akatsuki no Karuma is real class. I love the soft use and well made choice of instruments. And of course the vocals are brilliant. A very emotion filled song !

Yes it was only a couple of days. It got washed out real quickly. Luckily, 'cause even if I won the bet, I still felt a bit un-eased by all those staring eyes out on the street. But it was fun to see the reaction of my friends and teachers. Very Happy XD

Yeah. A song has to be catchy to please my heart. Razz It doesn't need to have a spectacular beat or sound, as long as it's not one of those songs that you forget about after listening to it one time. Talking about Kenshin songs. 'Sobakasu' and '1 Third True Feeling' are very lovely ones as well.

*sigh of relief* And yeah, during Graphics class, I was always busy with something else too. Problem is, I once had to laugh real heard about something funny I had read, and I couldn't stop myself from bursting out. That was such a dumb moment. I can really be a baka sometimes Very Happy

Yeah, curse them ! It's not fair they won't let me share musical goodies with you. ><
This looks indeed like a job for Kyrios. Very Happy

"Aya Himura. All systems go. Kyrios ready for launch !" *launching sequence*

True Very Happy

Yep, that's the guy. ^^

I wasn't going to, but now I really won't. Thanx for the warning. XD

J-pop golden tracks Empty
PostSubject: Re: J-pop golden tracks   J-pop golden tracks EmptyTue 6 Nov - 5:42

If you approach the song thinking that it's a choir song, it's pretty ok actually. Hahaa.

Yesss! PRIDE had around 6 remixes, all sounding damn horrible. One or two might be good, 'cause they may be trying to improve the original version. But when they do something like what they did with PRIDE, it becomes more of like a marketing technique. I guess their managers were just trying to ride the wave of popularity of Seed and get as much as they could out of the franchise. Razz
I think it's how you get so used to the classics that you can't really accept newer things. It's like how something really close to you suddenly changing into something totally alien.
Yeap. It's one of those few songs that makes me all moved after listening to it.

What were they like? Very Happy
Over here, we'd get detention if we dye our hair. =-=

Oh oh! I used to be so crazy over Sobakasu! XD The catchy tune is so addictive. Hahaa.
Did you watch Lucky Star? Their OP is very fast and catchy too. Very Happy

So.. you burst out laughing in the middle of class. D: I can just imagine. The entire class all quiet, listening to the teacher drawling on and on, and suddenly, someone starts laughing. Hahaa!
My friend thought it's weird that I laugh sometimes when I'm reading. Glad I'm not the only one. Very Happy

*gets ready popcorn to watch Aya cream FileEden Very Happy*

J-pop golden tracks Empty
PostSubject: Re: J-pop golden tracks   J-pop golden tracks EmptyTue 6 Nov - 6:43

If you watch the situation that way, then yes, I guess it's rather ok. But next to all the other great J-pop tracks, this one really falls out of the boat (except for people who like this kind of slower songs).

Well most things related to music are sole marketing these days. The more money, the better. Eurobeat is yet again a great example. Every month (except during summer), there's a new 18 track album released. And since a while, they add a second disk with remixes, which of course makes the price rise.
Well, there are really great remixes of songs. Ones there has been worked on for some time, and where there has been some thinking about what to keep and what to add. Unfortunately, not all remixes are made this way.

My friends thought it was cool. My teachers on the other hand. There were some who liked it, like my Spanish teacher (but then again, she's still very young herself). Some of the older teachers nearly shot me with their eyes Very Happy I thought that one of them was going to have a heart attack when I got inside the room like that. XD
Luckily over here we don't ^^'

*nods* Yeah, every time when that song plays, I HAVE to sing along and can't keep from moving.
'Motteke! Sailor Fuku'. That's indeed a very catchy, and fast one. Another fast OP song I like very, very much, is 'Forever', the OP to Erementar Gerad.

Yeah, and the problem is that I have a rather loud laugh. ^^' Overall, I have a soft voice, like Allelujah (a bit deeper), but when I laugh, they can hear me at the other side of the street. Very Happy
Yes, glad to hear I'm not the only baka on this planet. XD

Oh you bet they'll get creamed ! Especially after watching episode 5, their butts will be kicked real good ! *evil laugh* Oh look, my bang switched from side ! XD Razz

Optimistic me always looking at things in the better light. Hahaa. You do have a point there. I doubt Wings of Words actually did well in terms of sales. Well, maybe their sales were better than they should be with the Kira or Lacus (I can't recall which) ID cards they were giving away with the first run edition.

Whoa. How do they manage to release so many new albums all the time? They must have one hectic work schedule!
Ah yes, the specials. My friend, who's an avid Arashi fan, told me about a certain album of theirs having 3 editions; DVD, bonus track and something else I can't remember. Each only available in their respective editions. Devious.
Couldn't agree more. Wink

cheers for Spanish teacher! XD I bet the older teachers were thinking, "All the silly things young'uns do now. Pink of all colours!" XD
Lucky people. =\

But that's one artiste whose voice you can't imitate for sure. Razz
Ah! Forver was good. I loved Erementar Gerad. *coughseiyuuyetagaincough*

Well, at least you probably woke those who were napping during class. Hahaa! A soft voice~ You give me the impression of a very gentle and quiet man. XD
And now I'm labelled as a baka too? XD

New type Seed mode! Hahaa. Instead of pupils turning all mild, you have bang switching. XD Kind of reminds me of Agito and Akito from Airgear. The eyepatch switching. XD

PostSubject: Re: J-pop golden tracks   J-pop golden tracks EmptyFri 9 Nov - 10:17

The ID cards will indeed have stimulated the number of sales of Wings of Words. I think it was best for them that the song featured as an anime OP. Otherwise, this might have been a big flop. (although in my opinion, and I'm probably not the only one, it still remains a flop)

Well, basically, Avex only has to put the album together. The songs are composed by different music studios, like SCP, A-Beat C, Delta, Time, Hi-NRG Attack, Go Go's Music, ... Each of these have a wide variety of artists. So it's not really a big deal to get 18 songs ready every month. Although sometimes, when a certain studio has multiple songs on one SEB album, you can clearly notice some lack of quality.

Yeah, it's the same with the Tokio Hotel albums. When I went to buy Zimmer 483, I had to chose from 3 different versions. I got the most expensive (special) version of course Rolling Eyes Very Happy

cheers for THAT Spanish teacher, indeed. (the previous one I had was a real b*tch). Some of the other teachers more had a reaction like "What the hell is that kid thinking ?! Is he trying to mock with us and the school ?!" Razz

Well at least Í can't. XD
Erementar Gerad was a nice series. My favourite character was Wolx.

Yeah, I'm sure they were. Very Happy
I wouldn't say quiet, at least not any more. A couple of years ago, yes. And actually, it's funny. You should expect that when I was still in my 'quiet' period, and younger, I would have had a softer voice than now. But it's exactly the other way round. By getter older, my voice got a bit softer again. ^^ And I don't mind it one single bit. I think I sound a lot more sensual now. XD Very Happy
Yep. tongue ... ^.^

Yes, I said that too, about Agito and Akito, when I was talking to Loli about Allelujah.
AND, it seems my bang swinging worked ! I was finally able to upload that song I wanted to share with you. So *TADA*, here it is, Everlasting Fire. Enjoy ! ^^

(once again, my favourite parts from this song, Melissa's vocal work, the c-beat (synth melody) and the bridge)
